PROGRAM A SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE AND PRIVATE PIANO SCHOOL
LOCATION AUSTIN, TX
SEMESTER SPRING 2011
The success of this project hinged on the interaction between two very different programmatic requirements - a single-family residence and private school of piano. By engaging the two main volumes and creating material and formal hierarchies, I sought to bind the two structures together. This was important as a way to architecturalize the struggle between work, music and one's private life. The slight change in grade provided greater distinction between the inherently public and private uses of the two buildings.
