This design was an exploration of human perception. By way of an aluminum cladding and varied terrace walls, the design of this building takes advantage of the nuances visible to the occupant while providing the greater city with a cohesive public presence. There was also a deliberate investigation of juxtaposing scales of spaces, large with small, in order to accommodate daily activities and large events alike. Given the charged location of the site, directly across from the Texas Capitol, an attitude had to be developed about this building's role in the immediate location and the city at large.
